Rota dos Coqueiros Concessionaire celebrates 10 years of operation

Rota dos Coqueiros celebrated ten years of operation on June 11 this year. It is Pernambuco’s first Public-Private Partnership (PPP) and the country’s first PPP highway. The date marks the day of the first vehicle that passed through the tollbooth and traveled along the first concessionary highway in Pernambuco.

Since the beginning of the concession, R$ 112 million have been invested in the construction and infrastructure to ensure access, road safety and comfort for users. The resources involve the construction and maintenance of the highway, acquisition of equipment, revitalization and conservation works of the Wilson Campos Júnior Bridge, services such as landscaping, and others.

Rota dos Coqueiros is monitored 24/7 by the Operational Control Center (OCC), which has high-resolution cameras to ensure safety and tranquility to its users, who travel through the 6,5 kilometers of the highway under concession.

It also provides medical assistance with a rescue ambulance to perform the first aid, and mechanical support with winch to remove the vehicle and traffic inspection vehicle to check the safety conditions of the highway.
