IIRSA South, a concessionaire of Nova Infra Invest in Peru, through its Solid Waste Management Program, was recently recognized by the Social Sustainability Observatory of the Ministry of Transport and Communications as a Good Practice in Social Sustainability. This recognition highlights the positive impact and environmental work carried out along the Interoceanic South Highway, in the regions of Madre de Dios and Cusco.

The program aims to reduce the environmental impact generated by road maintenance and operation activities, ensuring the identification, classification, and proper disposal of the waste produced during daily operations. These actions help reduce waste generation and ensure responsible management of materials that require treatment or disposal, always in compliance with current environmental regulations.

Thanks to the ongoing implementation of these practices, more than 3,258 tons of solid waste have been segregated and properly disposed of in Sections 2 and 3, directly contributing to cleaner and safer environments for the communities located along the concession.

To maintain and strengthen this environmental program, the concessionaire continues to allocate permanent resources to ensure the treatment and proper disposal of solid waste, reaffirming its commitment to protecting the natural environment and the well-being of the families within its area of influence.
