Madden Colón begins new phase of solar lighting on the Don Alberto Motta Highway
DATE: 09/03/2026

As part of its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and the continuous improvement of the Don Alberto Motta Highway, Madden Colón Concessionaire (CMC), an asset of Nova Infra Invest, has launched a new phase of its lighting project. This stage includes preliminary works and the construction of foundations that will support the installation of 252 solar-powered lighting units at strategic sections of the roadway. The implementation will be carried out progressively over the coming months.
Current activities include the installation of 106 lighting units between kilometers 14 and 15, 68 in the El Giral area (kilometer 31), and 78 between kilometers 54 and 55. All units will be equipped with photovoltaic technology, a sustainable solution that promotes energy efficiency, strengthens road infrastructure, and enhances nighttime visibility conditions.
This new phase is part of CMC’s technological innovation strategy to optimize highway performance and continue raising the quality standards of one of the country’s most important logistics corridors. In addition, the initiative will help improve nighttime driving conditions, providing a more comfortable travel experience for highway users.
“The integration of these solar-powered lighting units reflects our commitment to continuous improvement and the modernization of the highway. We are investing in sustainable technological solutions that optimize infrastructure, enhance operational efficiency, and reinforce our commitment to innovation and the quality of service we provide to users,” said Humberto Arce, Commercial and Operations Manager.
With this new phase, CMC continues to implement solutions that address the needs of a strategic roadway for the country’s connectivity and logistics development. The adoption of solar technology contributes to optimizing highway operations, improving service quality, enhancing nighttime visibility conditions, and supporting ongoing efforts to provide more efficient, comfortable, and reliable transportation between the provinces of Panama and Colón.
