Odebrecht consolidates growth in 2025 with deliveries and achievements in major projects
DATE: 01/09/2026
Odebrecht Engineering & Construction ended 2025 reaffirming its leadership position in Brazil’s heavy construction sector. The company’s performance was in line with the sector as a whole, according to the latest edition of the Blue Book of Infrastructure, published by the Brazilian Association of Infrastructure and Basic Industries (ABDIB). According to the publication, investments in the country are expected to exceed R$ 280 billion in 2025, with the private sector accounting for approximately 84% of this amount.
The year was special for the company as it marked the completion of a rebranding process in which the group’s traditional brand returned to a central position in its logo, a desire of members, customers, and partners who recognize the value of its history of achievements in more than 3,000 projects in 37 countries. The change symbolizes the evolution of the company’s financial restructuring process and the strengthening of its corporate culture, focused on customer satisfaction.
New growth cycle
Odebrecht’s achievements this year were highlighted by its urban mobility megaprojects. In São Paulo, a consortium led by the company was selected to build two sections of Line 19-Celeste of the Metro, a strategic 17.6 km branch line that will connect the capital to Guarulhos. On Line 5-Lilás, it leads the consortium that was best positioned to build two new stations. In Rio de Janeiro, the Gávea Construction Consortium resumed work on the PUC-Gávea station, which had been paralyzed for almost a decade. And in Bahia, a consortium in which the company participates was qualified to build the new section of the Salvador Metro, between Lapa Station and the future Campo Grande Station.
In the highway segment, under Odebrecht’s leadership, the Cantareira Consortium delivered the first section of the Northern Ring Road on December 22, connecting the Presidente Dutra and Fernão Dias highways in São Paulo, marking the overcoming of one of the country’s greatest recent infrastructure challenges in just 18 months. In Paraná, the Guaratuba Bridge exceeded 85% completion, overcoming maritime engineering stages with the driving of piles in the submerged section. Also in the state, the duplication works on the Rodovia dos Minérios highway exceeded 70% physical progress, while in Rio de Janeiro, the interventions on the Campo Grande Ring Road entered their final stage.
The water resources and sanitation agenda also saw important milestones in 2025. In Alagoas, Section 5 of the Canal do Sertão accelerated its pace of execution in the second half of the year, bringing water security closer to thousands of families in the semi-arid region. In December, the largest water project underway in the state reached a decisive milestone with the first rock blasting for the construction of a 1.3 km tunnel. The work, conducted by a consortium led by Odebrecht in partnership with TPF Engenharia, overcomes the main physical barrier to the project’s continuity, reinforcing the commitment to the expansion schedule. In Rio de Janeiro, the company completed the buttress wall of the Novo Marapicu reservoir, a fundamental structure for the safety of the Baixada Fluminense supply system.
Industrial excellence
Tenenge, Odebrecht’s industrial engineering arm, diversified its portfolio with deliveries and new strategic contracts. In Bahia, in partnership with Estaleiro Enseada, the first barges were delivered to LHG Mining, and a contract was signed with Compagnie Maritime Monégasque (CMM) for the construction of six hybrid ships to be chartered by Petrobras for 12 years. Tenenge was contracted by the state-owned oil company to build the Naphtha Hydrotreatment Unit at the Abreu e Lima Refinery (RNEST) in Pernambuco and to build two refining units at the Boaventura Energy Complex in Rio de Janeiro.
In the defense sector, Odebrecht, through Itaguaí Construções Navais (ICN), achieved significant milestones in the Submarine Development Program (PROSUB). In 2025, in addition to delivering the Submarine Base Command building to the Brazilian Navy, the company delivered the Tonelero (S42) submarine and launched the Almirante Karam (S43) submarine, the last in a series of four conventional submarines built by the program. It also advanced engineering work associated with the future Álvaro Alberto nuclear-powered submarine, a strategic project for national sovereignty.
International market
On the international stage, Angola consolidated its position as a priority market with two major deliveries in 2025. Odebrecht completed the Barra do Dande Ocean Terminal and inaugurated the first phase of the Cabinda Refinery, projects that are vital to the African country’s energy independence. In the United States, the focus was on logistics modernization, with progress in the electrification of the Port of Miami and the implementation of new baggage handling systems at the international airport.
Awards and recognition
Odebrecht’s technical performance and commitment to sustainability earned it important distinctions in 2025. The company earned the GHG Protocol Gold Seal for the 12th time for its greenhouse gas emissions inventory and led the Brazilian Engineering Ranking published by O Empreiteiro magazine. Globally, the company was recognized in ENR magazine’s Global Best Projects for completing the combined cycle of the Santa Cruz Thermal Power Plant (RJ). In Brazil, the Engineering Institute awarded the company for its executive excellence in the construction of the Guaratuba Bridge (PR). In the field of innovation, Odebrecht ranked among the TOP 10 in Engineering and Construction Open Corps, an assessment promoted by the 100 Open Startups platform based on data generated by the market itself.
