OTP is new brand of Odebrecht TransPort
DATE: 06/05/2019
Odebrecht TransPort is now OTP, marking its positioning as an investor in highway concessions, urban mobility and logistics projects.
The change comes after the conclusion of the strategic sale of its controlling interests in two concessionaires: SuperVia, responsible for commuter rail service in Rio de Janeiro; and Rota das Bandeiras, which operates highway concessions in the state of São Paulo. OTP will continue to hold interests of 11.33% and 15% in SuperVia and Rota das Bandeiras, respectively.
With the settlement of the transactions, the company concludes its leadership of a cycle of transformations in these two operations. Over its ten-year history, Rota das Bandeiras reduced by 40% the number of fatal accidents and invested R$2.5 billion in works and improvements.
Meanwhile, SuperVia now offers 95% of trips in air-conditioned trains, with a renewed fleet, new control and training centers, a modern signage system and renovated tracks and stations.
The restructuring of OTP’s portfolio is being conducted under the leadership of Adriano Jucá, who is temporarily heading up the company while continuing to serve as chief legal officer.
