Ocyan hosts innovation event featuring discussions on the oil and gas sector, new energies, and new business opportunities.

Ocyan held its third edition of Innovation Day this past Tuesday, an event that opens the floor for discussions on topics that drive the innovation market in the oil and gas, and energy sectors. The Innovation Day took place at Inovateca, in the Technology Park of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), and the public followed the activities on Ocyan’s YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/@ocyansa).

“We have held the third edition of Innovation Day, which shows that the market has embraced our initiative. Addressing innovation in the oil and gas market is essential for the challenges that lie ahead in the coming years, such as new energy projects and decarbonization. Having the opportunity to exchange experiences and knowledge is very enriching for everyone,” says Patrícia Grabowsky, executive manager of innovation and digital transformation at Ocyan.

The event featured in-person conversations for invited guests, with roundtable discussions led by representatives from companies such as Petrobras, Repsol Sinopec, Valetec, and Ocyan. Among the topics covered: good practices for raising funds for innovation; processes and metrics; deeptech; intrapreneurship; and the role of hydrogen in the energy transition.

Taking advantage of the fact that Ocyan is now a member of the group of sustaining companies of the UFRJ Technology Park, and with the intention of fortifying this partnership which affords us the opportunity to engage with startups, hubs, and esteemed laboratories, we also paid a visit to the Institute SENAI for Innovation in Biosynthetics and Fibers,” explains Lívia Savignon, Innovation Coordinator at Ocyan.

In the afternoon, three “Meetings of Experts” were conducted on the following themes: “Technological innovation as a lever for energy evolution”; “Strategic governance of innovation in large corporations”; and “Corporate venture building: accelerating corporate growth from the inside out”. The panels featured guests from ABEEólica (Brazilian Wind Energy and New Technologies Association); Abiogás (Brazilian Gas Association); Innoscience; Energy Cup; Eletrobras; Oxygea; Braskem and Ocyan.
