DATE: 05/15/2024
Novonor Group companies are mobilizing to support the communities affected by the rains in Rio Grande do Sul. According to Civil Defense data, there are 332 municipalities and more than 710,000 people affected, who are now facing a shortage of hygiene items, clothing, food and, above all, drinking water.
At the São Paulo office, boxes were made available for the collection of donations that are periodically sent to the Post Office, involving members of Novonor S.A., OEC, Vexty, OR and Horiens.
The Norberto Odebrecht Foundation has joined the same campaign by making collection boxes available at its office in Salvador. Enseada, meanwhile, shall be collecting items for donation by the Post Office through the Warm Clothing Campaign, with a focus on items such as bedding, blankets and cold clothes.
The state-owned company’s agencies provide free transportation to the affected cities and it is also possible to donate directly. For more information, click here.
OEC
The ViaSul Construction Consortium (CCVS), made up of the companies OEC – Engenharia & Construção and PowerChina, responsible for the duplication of BR386 in Rio Grande do Sul, is supporting its client, CCR Via Sul, in clearing landslides that have completely interrupted the road between km 276 and 322, as well as interdicted stretches in the municipality of Lajeado.
Since the first interruption on Tuesday morning (April 30), all of the consortium’s support and production areas have been working on restoring, signaling, cleaning and releasing the lanes at the affected points, isolating areas at risk of falling materials, inspecting the work sites and providing support to the CCR and Federal Highway Police operation sites.
The teams have been working tirelessly and the work has enabled vehicles and people who were stranded on the roads to be freed. CCVS members are also collecting donations, gathering items such as clothes, towels, sheets, mattresses, personal hygiene kits, non-perishable food and cleaning products.
On Tuesday (07), Prosub – the Submarine Development Program – made donations in support of the population affected by the flood. In all, 200 bunk beds, 45 mattresses, sheets and pillowcases were delivered with the support of partner supplier Efitrans, which helped with transportation.
Horiens
In addition to collecting donations at the office, Horiens is in contact with its clients in Rio Grande do Sul, reinforcing the attention and availability for support through its risk and insurance solutions. With particular regard to People Insurance, Horiens’ Hello People channel is prepared to provide focused and agile assistance to insured members in the affected regions.
Vexty
In support of participants and beneficiaries at this delicate time, Vexty has made some emergency measures possible in the Conscious Lending Program. All Regular and Assisted Participants can apply for loans with reduced rates and the suspension of installments for 3 months. In addition, those who already have an active loan with the Entity can also request a temporary suspension of installment payments. The action is aimed at offering secure support in this time of crisis, and will remain in effect until July 31, 2024.
Braskem
Braskem, which has industrial units at the Triunfo Petrochemical Complex, has contributed to the safety and support of its members, the population and the communities around the plants, as well as taking care of local operations. Some of the actions are:
– Donation of food baskets and hygiene and cleaning kits through a financial contribution;
– Allocation of R$5 million in products so that customers, partners and other agents in the production chain can contribute to the emergency care of Rio Grande do Sul society by manufacturing essential items;
