    Atvos acts in the awareness, prevention and is prepared to act in the firefighting especially in Goiás, Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul. These states recorded an increase in fire occurrences of up to 530% over the same period last year, according to data from the National Institute for Space Research (Inpe).. Besides the daily digital monitoring of weather conditions and critical factors, the company has more than a thousand professionals, including firefighters, firemen and rescuers and a fleet of more than 140 vehicles.

    At Atvos, 100% of the harvest is mechanized and the practice of burning is forbidden. In the period, the company has registered only four fires, a reduction of 67% in the total number. In all its agro-industrial units, teams monitor, full time, the climatic conditions of the place and the temperature of the machinery.

    Since the last harvest, the company has adopted the digital laser thermometer to measure the temperature of the harvesters’ undercarriage. If it is above normal, the cleaning of the equipment and surroundings is performed, with the removal of the straw and cooling of the machine that only returns to operation after evaluation of the maintenance team. The climatic conditions in the workplace are also constantly checked via app. The wind speed analysis, air humidity and temperature allows teams to take immediate action, preventing the fire from starting. Periodically, it is performed cleaning  (wet or dry) of equipment and survey of energized networks.

    For the fighting, the company has a fleet of more than 140 vehicles, being more than 86 trucks-pipes, 7 motor graders, 2 loaders, 12 tanks of 30 thousand liters and 2 of 45 thousand liters, 2 motor pumps and each sugar cane harvest front has agribomba trucks, making action in fires more agile. It is being tested the use of an automated truck bomb, which does not require the presence of a firefighter auxiliary, being controlled by the driver himself through external cameras located at the front, rear and sides. This innovation brings more assertiveness at the moment of fighting the flames and, also, security to the firefighter who is on the front line. If necessary, support aircraft can be deployed.

    In addition, the company participates in the Mutual Emergency Aid Plan (MAP)This is a group formed by companies, the government and the community to help in an integrated way in the emergency assistance to fires and burnings. With this, Atvos’ teams and equipment are available to support in occurrences in the region.

    “We have specialized and trained teams, with a robust structure to act with agility and safety in firefighting. But the priority is prevention, so it is critical that the whole community is aware of how small attitudes can prevent immense social harm, environmental and economic”, says Rodrigo Vinchi, Agricultural Manager of Atvos.

    These are actions that can be adopted by the community to prevent a fire:

    Do not set fire to garbage and waste;

    Do not throw cigarette butts anywhere;

    No burning;

    Keep land free of fire-spreading materials.
