After conclusion of the first stage of the work, the Concessionaire begins a new service front
With the completion of the first stage of the duplication from km 117.6 to km 119.4 of BR-163, in Rondonópolis, the Rota do Oeste released this Sunday (Sep. 29) the new lane for light and heavy vehicles.
The Works and Conservation manager of the Concessionaire, Jorge Raffide, explains that the works began this April and now a new phase begins. With the operation of the new (southbound) lane, the recovery of the old structure, which has three roadways and will be partially banned, can begin.
In order to carry out the new work front on the old lane, the northbound traffic will be maintained in one of the lanes. In the other two lanes (previously used for southbound traffic), will be blocked. At the site, the teams will work to conclude the pavement drainage and recovery. And finally, these same services will be performed on the third lane.
The works are according to schedule, and the new lane follows the duplication standard provided in the contract, with shoulder, appropriate horizontal and vertical signaling, rainwater grooves and central reservation where grass has already been planted. For this service, Rota do Oeste has kept permanent contact with public administration and local community who are affected by the improvements, always focused on meeting the demands.
In the south of the state, this section of BR-163 has been already duplicated by 117.6 kilometers, concluded in 2016. Since the beginning of the concession, Rondonópolis region has been contemplated with improvements carried out by Rota do Oeste. In 2018, the first weigh station of BR-163 was inaugurated, at km 108, where heavy vehicles are inspected by the National Land Transportation Agency (ANTT).
