Construction advances on Line 3 of Carioca LRV

Construction of Line 3 of the Rio de Janeiro Light Rail System (Carioca LRV), which is operated by Odebrecht TransPort, is advancing in the central region of Rio de Janeiro. The new section will connect Central do Brasil to Santos Dumont via Avenida Marechal Floriano and will have three new stops: Duque de Caxias, Camerino and Santa Rita.

Line 3 is expected to be in operation by mid-December this year, marking the completion of the project’s last phase.

The new section will be a faster option for those arriving to the Central do Brasil region who need to go to Santos Dumont Airport or to Avenida Rio Branco, which will offer transfer service to Line 1 at the stop Candelária.
