The UHN Consortium has launched the first initiatives of the Respect Builds pilot project, aimed at strengthening a culture of respect, inclusion, and diversity in the workplace. Inspired by the principles of Our Culture, the initiative seeks to promote healthier and more collaborative relationships, encouraging behaviors aligned with the values that guide Odebrecht’s operations.

The first phase of Respect Builds included the training of 103 leaders through Movimenta, Odebrecht’s Operational Leadership Workshop, conducted by the People & Organization and Corporate Training teams. Using a practical and participatory approach, the program addressed topics such as the role of leadership, competency development, team productivity, nonviolent communication, integrity, and people management.

As part of the launch activities, discussion circles were also held with both men and women using an active listening methodology. As a result of this initiative, 15 facilitators, known as Builders of Respect, were designated to act as change agents, encouraging dialogue and promoting a culture of respect, inclusion, and healthy workplace interactions among team members.

The training was carried out in partnership with the Corporate Integrity and Social Responsibility teams and included the participation of Odebrecht’s Integrity Director, Bruno Brasil, who visited the project site to contribute to the training process and reinforce the importance of the themes addressed by the initiative.

In addition to the training sessions, Respect Builds has gained permanent visibility across the construction site through fixed signage installed in high-traffic areas, such as the project entrance, common areas, and changing room access points. The materials highlight the values of Our Culture and emphasize the initiative’s core pillars, keeping its message present in the daily routine of the workforce and continuously reinforcing attitudes of respect, inclusion, integrity, and appreciation for people.

The project was also officially presented to the client, who was introduced to its objectives, guidelines, and expected impacts. According to Maria Alencar, Contract Director of the UHN Consortium, the initiative represents another step toward consolidating an organizational culture based on respect and care for people.

“Respect is a non-negotiable value and must be present in all our relationships. Respect Builds strengthens our corporate culture by promoting awareness, dialogue, and the creation of an increasingly safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for everyone,” said Maria.
