“Respeito Constrói” Intensifies Actions to Combat Violence Against Women at the UHN–Tenenge Consortium
DATE: 07/03/2026
Reinforcing its ongoing commitment to promoting a safer, more ethical, and respectful work environment, the UHN–Tenenge Consortium continues to strengthen awareness initiatives on violence against women through the Respeito Constrói program.
Football brings people together and creates moments of excitement and passion, but it can also intensify reactions and lead to inappropriate or even violent behavior. With major sporting events approaching and a rise in cases of violence—especially against women—during these periods, we reiterate the importance of remembering that, both on and off the job site, violence has no place and should never be part of the game. Everyone is encouraged to help ensure that our worksites remain, above all, spaces of respect.
Recent data highlight the relevance of this issue. In Pernambuco, approximately 40% of the protective measures granted in 2024 were issued to construction workers. In 2025, the state has already recorded 88 femicide cases, leading the Northeast region and ranking second nationwide.
In response to this scenario, the initiative has intensified awareness efforts among the workforce. In partnership with the Women’s Secretariat of Cabo de Santo Agostinho, an awareness session was conducted with approximately 90 employees, addressing support networks, different forms of violence, and the role each individual can play in tackling the issue.
The program included a presentation on the symbolism of the Red Bench (Banco Vermelho) initiative, in partnership with the Banco Vermelho Institute, as well as an interactive activity that encouraged reflection and engagement among participants.
According to Contract Director Maria Alencar, initiatives like this reinforce the company’s role in building a more conscious and responsible culture.“Promoting respect in the workplace is a daily commitment. By addressing issues such as violence against women, we strengthen awareness and contribute to creating a safer, more humane, and more responsible environment for everyone,” said Maria.
Respeito Constrói is a Tenenge program dedicated to promoting more respectful, inclusive, and safe workplace relationships. It reinforces that respect is a shared responsibility and reaffirms the company’s ongoing commitment to combating violence and valuing people, strengthening a culture built on respect in all its practices.
