Our People, Our Strength! Annual Meeting celebrates the people and achievements of Novonor Group

The meeting was marked by the announcement of Maurício Bahia Odebrecht as the new chairman of Novonor’s Board of Directors

On December 19, the Annual Meeting was held, an event that brings together all the Novonor Group companies to share the challenges, highlights and achievements of the year. The 2023 theme was “Our People, Our Strength”, in recognition of the people who build the results and who are always united by the strong foundation of Our Culture. One of the most remarkable moments was the announcement of Maurício Bahia Odebrecht as the new chairman of Novonor’s Board of Directors, after five years on the board. The position was previously held by José Mauro Carneiro da Cunha from December 2019, who will continue as a member.

“I will enter 2024 as Chairman of the Board of Directors and I hope to maintain the will and vigor that I feel. I’m very proud of the history of this company, as well as its members, and I see a future for all of us. That’s what I’m going to pursue,” said Maurício in his message.

Thousands of members, located in different parts of Brazil and the world, followed the event via online streaming and 170 guests representing the companies were present.

The meeting was also marked by the announcement of the winners of Destaque Award, recognition of members who have completed 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 years with the Group in the Annual Tribute Program, as well as a special tribute to Juliana Baiardi, now a Novonor company advisor.

Conducted with great charisma by Paquisa Brandão, from Novonor’s ESG team, and Jonas Nogueira, from the Norberto Odebrecht Foundation’s Sustainability team, the Annual Meeting won the approval of 98% of the audience, according to an opinion poll.

Héctor Núñez, Novonor’s CEO, opened the event and reinforced in his message the highlights of the holding company in 2023, ending with an eye to the future: “In the last two years we have planted the seeds. I’m sure that 2024, when we’ll be 80 years in business, will be a particularly challenging year, a year that will mark a new era of structural achievements that will open up great opportunities for growth. Let’s go together!”
