OR starts preparations for renovation of Maria Helen Drexel Association headquarters
DATE: 07/30/2019
In June, OR helped disseminate the fundraising campaign for renovation of the headquarters of the Maria Helen Drexel Association (AMHD). AMHD is a civil organization that offers shelter for children and youth whose basic rights have been violated or threatened, offering them protection, assistance, health care and education. Its headquarters, located in the Brooklin neighborhood of São Paulo, are old and, due to the location, are constantly flooded. OR participated in the campaign, because it is involved in this project since the early planning stages and is responsible for the architectural design and for managing the renovation works of the new headquarters.
The campaign was a success; donations exceeded the initial target, enabling complete renovation, which will begin in the coming days, when the current building will be demolished. Works should be concluded by July 30, 2020.
Despite the successful fundraising campaign, AMHD always needs help to maintain the homes where the children are sheltered. To learn more about this initiative and know how you can help, click here.
