Legacy construction project recycles 5.8 tons of waste, transforming it into benefits for institutions

OR has taken another important step in its socio-environmental journey by donating the points generated through the Transformar Project to the Instituto Viva Infância.

The initiative marks a symbolic milestone for the project, which connects responsible construction waste management with the generation of social impact. Implemented as a pilot project at the Legacy development, Transformar aims to ensure the proper disposal of construction waste, with traceability throughout every stage of the process.

In practice, recyclable materials are separated directly at the construction site and sent to accredited partners. These materials are converted into points through the Recicla Capital program, which can later be exchanged for benefits directed to social institutions.

This cycle became a reality during the visit to Instituto Viva Infância: the points accumulated through the recycling efforts at the construction site have now been transformed into direct support for the institution, contributing to its activities and expanding the positive impact generated by the initiative.

In addition to its social contribution, the project has also delivered significant environmental results. In the first quarter of 2026 alone, Transformar prevented the emission of more than 28,000 kg of CO?, preserved 116 trees, and enabled substantial savings in energy and water consumption, reinforcing the potential of the construction sector as an agent of sustainable transformation.

More than a one-time initiative, the Transformar Project is becoming an OR guideline, with plans to expand it to all future developments.
