OR Introduces Artis, Marking Its Entry into Recife’s Real Estate Market

On October 20, OR hosted OR Talks, an exclusive event for invited guests, to introduce its first real estate development in Recife. Named Artis, the project is located in the Pina neighborhood and brings together contemporary architecture, regional identity, and Pernambuco’s cultural heritage, building on OR’s long-standing presence in the state.

Artis is part of OR’s vision of bringing architecture, culture, and regional identity together. It highlights how references from the past can inspire new urban experiences and contribute to new ways of thinking about and living in the city.

Based on the idea that art can redefine how people live in and experience spaces, OR Talks invited guests to reflect on an initiative that values memory, cultural roots, and art’s power to inspire new ways of living by bringing tradition and modernity together.

“Recife has a historic relationship with both art and architecture. By incorporating local elements, we aim to create a dialogue between the project, the neighborhood, and the city’s identity,” said Pedro Pessoa, OR’s Managing Director.

About Artis 

Artis has 35 floors (ground floor plus 34 upper floors), with three-bedroom apartments ranging from 97 m² to 117 m² and a full range of leisure facilities. The architectural design was developed by Arquitetura Nacional, the landscaping by Takeda Design, and the interior design is being handled by architect Cecília Lemos. The project’s Gross Sales Value (GSV) is R$128 million.

References to local artistic production and historical elements of Pernambuco architecture, such as the cobogó design element, have been reinterpreted through a contemporary lens.

The overall experience is closely connected to architecture, the culture of Pernambuco, and the project’s relationship with its surroundings. The development is strategically located in Pina, a neighborhood connecting the northern and southern parts of Recife, just 200 meters from the beach. The area is also known for its artistic heritage and proximity to a wide range of leisure, arts, and cultural attractions.

“We want the project to reflect OR’s DNA while being genuinely connected to Recife. This combination of quality, planning, local identity, and a deep understanding of the local context is what we aim to bring to this new chapter of our presence in Pernambuco,” said Pedro Pessoa.

Artis enters the market backed by OR’s distinguished track record in Reserva do Paiva, Pernambuco’s first master-planned community. Since 2007, the company has been active in the development of the destination and was responsible for its implementation. OR has nine real estate developments in Reserva do Paiva that have received several awards, including two Master Imobiliário Awards and one Prix d’Excellence.

With a track record in high-end residential developments, OR now brings its first project by the developer to Recife.

The Novonor Group’s relationship with Pernambuco is deeply rooted and becomes even stronger with OR’s arrival in Recife. It was in the capital of Pernambuco that Norberto Odebrecht, founder of the business group, was born in 1920.
