OEC has just resumed initiatives of Education for Work aimed at training its leaders in Brazil. On November 25th, 30th, and December 1st, 30 Members from several construction sites in progress in the country, as well as from support areas, participated, in São Paulo, in the Leadership Workshop and were able to discuss topics such as identifying people, team building, PA cycle, communication, feedback dialogue etc.

Juliana Marques, responsible for Quality and Engineering at the Transbrasil Consortium, evaluated the opportunity to participate in the Workshop as being “very enriching in her trajectory as a leader”. As for Sergio Pessoa Filho, from Tenenge’s industrial plant maintenance contract, “the formation of leaders is of utmost importance for the company to have knowledgeable people prepared to conquer and satisfy our Customers, able to bring the results that the company has been aiming for”.

The Leadership Workshop was conducted by OEC’s People & Organization (P&O) area, with testimonials from Leaders of the Business itself, such as Contract Director Rogério Dourado, and was held in partnership with Crescimentum, a training and development consultancy specialized in Leadership.

According to Eduardo Abud, responsible for People and Organizational Development, the initiative is part of “Movimenta OEC”, a program that comprises a set of actions aimed at the development of Members in coordination positions. “Movimenta encompasses both content focused on the exercise of leadership itself, and the development of other business competencies such as Customer Satisfaction, Competitiveness, Innovation, and the ESG agenda.

In addition to the Workshop, other Movimenta initiatives were implemented this year, such as a mentoring program for women, “Elas Constroem” (They Build), and the “Leadership Summit”, an event that provided, for about 300 leaders, highly relevant content related to the strategic direction of the Novonor Group and OEC, as well as lectures with external facilitators on topics such as Productivity, Diversity, and others.

According to Juliana Lima, Learning and Culture coordinator at OEC, holding these events brought a mix of personal and professional achievement. “We are a company recognized for having education as the basis of its development and of its people, both through work and through formal learning actions, which made holding these events an even greater challenge,” she says.
