Libro en formato digital que presenta una colección de artículos desarrollados en el programa OEC IN sobre tecnologías, retos y oportunidades en el sector de la construcción

On April 17, OEC – Engenharia & Construção is launching the first edition of the e-book “Building Innovation”. The event will take place at InovaBra Habitat, from 9am to 11am, and will be attended by startups and constructechs that orbit Bradesco’s innovation hub. Participation is open to all and free of charge upon registration at link. The e-book presents a collection of 19 articles written by professionals from the company’s Innovation Program – OEC IN, as well as specialized partners from the construction industry.

The authors address key issues for the sector, from the importance of emerging technologies in improving productivity to the challenges and opportunities of open innovation in construction. Among the subjects, BIM(Building Information Modeling) stands out, a set of processes and tools that make it possible to create a virtual model of the project, covering all the stages of its useful life, from the project to the use and decommissioning of the asset.

An example of the implementation of this technology was the project for Section 5 of the Sertão Alagoano Canal, developed by the consortium formed by OEC and TPF Engenharia. BIM has brought more productivity and agility to project design and execution planning than traditional processes. Another example of the successful use of technology was the work on the Novo Marapicu reservoir, underway in Rio de Janeiro, which will improve the water supply directly to the municipalities of Duque de Caxias, São João do Meriti, Nova Iguaçu, Nilópolis, Belfort Roxo and, indirectly, to the municipality of Rio de Janeiro, guaranteeing a supply for more than three million people.

The e-book also includes analyses of how corporate communication can help expand knowledge and innovation and the importance of acceleration programs that emphasize doing business with startups, whether by offering space for POCs(Proof of Concept) or investments to support the first steps.

“The inclusion of new technologies is fundamental to driving progress and innovation in various sectors of society. The launch of the e-book reinforces OEC’s strategic vision, which seeks to make innovation an integral part of every construction process, from planning to execution. The future of this sector will be guided by the ability to turn challenges into opportunities, through more efficient and sustainable ideas,” says Daniel Lepikson, head of the Innovation area at OEC
