At the end of February, OEC Angola, together with Sonangol, handed over to the community of Hanha do Norte, in Benguela province, the BG 2029 school complex, made up of 12 classrooms and with the capacity to receive and monitor 721 elementary school pupils. The delivery of this educational institution, duly equipped with the necessary equipment and school materials, including a playground, reinforces OEC’s commitment to consistently supporting access and the quality of education provided to the children of Benguela Province. It falls within its social responsibility framework, which focuses on the development of communities adjacent to its projects.

On the same occasion, the Hanha Norte community also received a completely rehabilitated local medical center, so that residents can have immediate access to basic medical care.

On the same occasion, the Tuyula Lumonga Association received milling and sealing machines, and the OEC Angola made a commitment to support the transportation and marketing of the products, to improve the quality of life of the inhabitants and expand job opportunities in that community.

OEC Angola and Sonangol delivered this equipment as part of the construction of the Lobito Refinery, which is continuing on schedule.
