Program brought together team members through meetings and experiences that revisited the company’s journey, put Our Values into action, and encouraged reflection on the future.

From October 5 to 9, Horiens held the third edition of Nossa Cultura Week, with a program that connected different moments of its journey: the stories and lessons that helped shape the company nearly 50 years ago, the values reflected in daily relationships and decisions, and the transformations that point toward the future.

Under the theme “Culture that Transforms,” the week began at Horiens with Coffee with Culture: Our History, a gathering that brought together Marcelo Neves, Horiens’ leader, and Marcos Lima, a former company leader who played a key role in its development, for a conversation about experiences that help explain Horiens’ origins and the culture that continues to guide its activities today.

“Everything changes upon a foundation that never changes. That is very powerful because Our Culture is timeless,” highlighted Marcelo during the opening event for company team members.

Lessons from Someone Who Worked Alongside Norberto Odebrecht

While revisiting his journey within the Novonor Group, Marcos shared stories from his experience with several Group leaders and team members, particularly Norberto Odebrecht, illustrating how the principles of TEO were translated into concrete decisions.

Among these examples, he recalled the challenge of creating the Group’s first insurance policy in the late 1970s. This movement marked the beginning of Horiens’ history as a captive broker responsible for managing insurance in support of Novonor businesses, preserving knowledge about the risks of each project and venture while helping protect the organization’s assets.

More than recalling historical facts, these experiences opened space for reflections on leadership, people development, delegation, and responsibility. Marcos emphasized the importance that Norberto placed on developing successors and preparing people to take on new challenges, as well as fostering “entrepreneurs” capable of making things happen, one of the defining characteristics of the Group’s culture throughout its history.

“Where are the values? They are in people,” summarized Marcos.

Reflecting on the lessons that shaped his own career, he also highlighted the leader’s role in developing people and the importance of bringing together competencies and building relationships.

“What is important? Taking care of relationships, understanding the market, knowing who can help me, and how to bring those strengths together.”

The discussion continued with Marcelo Neves, who, when asked about the most important legacy from his experience with Norberto, highlighted the systematization of the principles and concepts that still guide team members across the Group today.

“Norberto was a visionary, but for me one of his most remarkable traits was his ability to synthesize ideas and learning. All the concepts of Our Culture are based on practical experience. That has enormous value for every team member.”

In addition to the conversation with Marcelo Neves and Marcos Lima, Horiens also participated in the Fireside Conversation promoted by Novonor, featuring the Group’s CEO, Daniel Villar.

    Culture Put into Practice

This connection between values and people also guided the other experiences developed during Nossa Cultura Week 2026 at Horiens.

At the Culture Movie Quiz, held on October 7, the video Living Memory explored the history of the Group and the consolidation of its foundational principles and concepts. After the screening, participants tested their knowledge in an engaging quiz.

During the “I See Our Culture in You” initiative, each participant had the opportunity to identify a value reflected in a colleague’s attitude and deliver a recognition message.

Meanwhile, a desk ruler featuring the question “Which value represents you today?” encouraged a lighthearted reflection on which of Our Values was most present in participants’ lives at that moment.

The program also included space for Tributo ao Futuro, an initiative that allows individuals to donate or allocate part of their income tax to socio-environmental projects focused on the development of young people supported by the Norberto Odebrecht Foundation, as well as the promotion of Teo, the Novonor Group’s virtual assistant that facilitates access to content related to TEO and Our Culture.

    Looking Toward the Future

If the opening of the week focused on history and memory, its closing turned attention toward the next chapters of this journey.

On October 9, Coffee with Culture: Our Future brought together team members such as Marcio Santos, leader of Horiens Risk Labs, and Marcelo Vitório, Head of IT, for a conversation moderated by Fernanda Antonelli, who leads People, Communication, and Marketing.

The discussion explored Innovation and Technology, connecting culture with workplace transformations and the way Horiens envisions and builds its present and future.

“Between memory, recognition, and new possibilities, this special week reinforced the idea that culture remains alive when its values are translated into everyday choices, relationships, and attitudes,” highlighted Fernanda Antonelli.

Our Culture Through the Voices of Team Members

    Soraia Santiago | People Insurance

“Our Culture reinforced values that have always been present in my life, such as ethics, integrity, and a spirit of service. Throughout my many years at Horiens, I gained greater autonomy and growth, learning that self-confidence and responsibility for self-development truly make a difference. I am proof that trusting people’s potential transforms lives and realities.”

    Thaynara Domingos | Risk Labs

“Since joining Horiens this year, I have learned to approach challenges proactively and to understand the value of learning from experienced leaders, taking on responsibilities, and, in the future, supporting the development of others. In addition, experiencing Our Culture transformed my perspective on the engineer’s role in risk management: more than complex analytical models, it is about positively impacting people’s lives through safety, ethics, and sustainability.”

Marcus Vinicius Lima | Energy, Oil & Gas

“I have been with Horiens since 2013 and learned in practice that trust and commitment go hand in hand, something we call planned delegation. This has been one of the greatest transformations that Our Culture has brought to my life: valuing the trust we receive, making things happen, and acting responsibly toward the commitments we take on.”
