Nossa Cultura Program in PDCIS Concludes Its 2026 Cycle in the Lower South Region of Bahia

The learning journey began with an online opening session attended by more than 50 participants, with the purpose of engaging and preparing teams for the cycle’s activities. Subsequently, in-person meetings were held with members of the four PDCIS partner institutions in the Lower South region of Bahia, featuring a program focused on learning, experience sharing, and collective reflection on legacy, purpose, and practices.

The Nossa Cultura Program in PDCIS was launched in 2025, focusing on the historical experiences of Norberto Odebrecht and the origins of the concepts that make up Nossa Cultura. In the 2026 edition, developed in partnership with the Odebrecht Culture Center, the initiative was designed to bring these concepts closer to the day-to-day reality of the teams working at partner institutions.

Throughout the program, participants had the opportunity to learn more about Norberto Odebrecht’s trajectory in the Lower South region of Bahia, understand how his work in the region was connected to the emergence of the principles that today form Nossa Cultura, and reflect on the influence of these concepts on the development of PDCIS.

“The initiative plays an essential role in ensuring that Nossa Cultura and Dr. Norberto’s teachings remain alive and continue to inspire us in achieving our goals,” says Liana Garrido Fontenelle, head of the Odebrecht Culture Center.

This year’s program also adopted a more practical and participatory approach. Through interactive exercises, group activities, and discussion circles, participants reflected on how Nossa Cultura can be applied in the daily routines of the institutions and discussed strategies to strengthen and disseminate this knowledge among the program’s beneficiaries.

“The activities helped broaden our understanding of leadership, education, and community development, strengthening the work of PDCIS teams,” commented Railda Santos, Monitor at the Lower South Bahia Agroforestry Family House (CFAF).

Katiane Gomes, Pedagogical Coordinator at the Rural Family House of Presidente Tancredo Neves (CFR-PTN), added: “I loved the program. The lessons learned go beyond PDCIS or professional training; they are lessons for life.”

Larissa Cardoso, a member of the PDCIS Lower South team at FNO, believes that the conclusion of this edition generated valuable insights. “Collectively, we noticed the unique way in which Nossa Cultura has become part of the essence of each institution, connecting all members around a shared motivation,” she concluded.
