DATE: 11/06/2026
The Best NGOs Award, the largest recognition for the third sector in Brazil, has begun announcing the 100 organizations selected for its 2026 edition. The award recognizes organizations that have demonstrated excellence in areas such as governance, transparency, communication, and financial sustainability. While the complete ranking will only be released in November, the announcement of the winning organizations has already begun, and the Norberto Odebrecht Foundation has been recognized among Brazil’s 100 Best NGOs in 2026, as well as one of the Top 5 NGOs in the state of Bahia.

Ruth Ribeiro, from the Partnerships area, and Camila Giuliani, from the Communications area, during the awards ceremony.
Organized by Certificadora Social, with sponsorship from Ambev Voa, Mercado Pago, Doare, and Prosas, the award brought together organizations from across the country, evaluated according to rigorous technical criteria. The selection process included a detailed review of the information provided by NGOs during registration, as well as assessment by a judging committee composed of sector specialists, journalists, researchers, and representatives of civil society. The Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV) supported the documentary analysis of participating organizations.
This is the fourth time that the institution founded by Norberto Odebrecht has appeared on the list of the country’s 100 best NGOs, having also been recognized as Bahia’s Best NGO in 2022 and 2025. According to Camila Giuliani, Communications Manager, the achievement celebrates a history of more than 60 years of professionalism and commitment. “We are one of the oldest corporate foundations in Brazil, and we carry not only a legacy of promoting sustainable territorial development, but also of strengthening the institutions within the territories where we operate, as well as a strong commitment to transparency and integrity,” she said.
The 2026 edition marks the tenth anniversary of the Award, consolidating its position as an essential initiative for recognizing and promoting the work of civil society organizations in Brazil. In addition to the main ranking, the Award will also announce, on November 23, winners in special categories such as NGO of the Year, Best NGOs by Cause, and Best Small NGOs. The official ceremony will be broadcast live on Certificadora Social’s YouTube channel.
