    Published by: Novonor

    The population of the Southern, Far Southern, and Southwestern regions of Bahia, our home state, is suffering from the heavy rains that have been falling since December 2021, causing floods, dam failures, lack of food and drinking water, and other items, and leaving thousands of people homeless, including many elderly people and children.

    Novonor Group companies have engaged in collaboration to bring help to these people. Check out the actions:

    Braskem:

    Braskem has contributed to minimize the situation by donating nearly 50,000 hygiene and cleaning kits to the State. In all, 545,000 items were made available, which will be directed to the impacted people. Besides the hygiene kit donations, the company motivated its members to join the “Embrace Bahia” campaign, promoted by CUFA. Braskem will multiply by four each amount donated by the member and will revert all the income in a new donation to FIEB, which is also collecting resources for the affected families. The action to promote donations continues until January 14th.

    Norberto Odebrecht Foundation, OEC and Ocyan:

    The Foundation, OEC and Ocyan made donations in cash to the FNO’s partner institutions in the Southern Loawlands, these funds are destined to purchase mattresses, food, hygiene and cleaning kits to be delivered to the cities in the region. So far, in 8 cities and their rural communities, they have received:

    – approximately 160 food baskets;
    – approximately 110 mattresses;
    – approximately 60 hygiene and cleaning kits;
    – 180 water bundles;

    OEC donated R$50,000, distributed to three municipalities:

    • CFRI – IGRAPIUNA RURAL FAMILY HOME
    • CFAF – AGROFORESTRY FAMILY HOUSE IN THE SOUTHERN LOWLANDS OF BAHIA
    • CFR-PTN – RURAL FAMILY HOME OF PRES. TANC. NEVES

    OR:

    OR is running the “SOS Rains in Bahia” campaign, which aims to collect clothes, hygiene materials, and non-perishable food to help the population of Southern Bahia.

    Members of OR, the Association of Residents of Horto (neighborhood where the Monvert project is located), and Monvert clients are invited to help and they can donate at two collection points: the OR Office (Hangar Business Park, tower 6, 4th floor) and also at the Monvert construction site (Rua Estácio Gonzaga, 640 – Monvert, Cafeteria 01 – G3).

    All donations will be delivered to the Salvador City Hall collection points.
