DATE: 11/24/2022
Initiative of Norberto Odebrecht Foundation and Maria Emília Foundation will offer personalized advisory services and allocate R$ 25,000 to an NGO
An NGO from Salvador that promotes the education of children and teens may receive R$ 25,000 and personalized assistance to strengthen its management. This is the proposal of the Strong NGO Award, an initiative of Norberto Odebrecht Foundation (FNO) in partnership with Maria Emília Foundation (FME). The award aims to contribute to a non-profit institution in Salvador becoming more efficient, transparent, and thus able to benefit more people with its education projects. You can register at https://prosas.com.br/editais/12408-premio-ong-forte until December 30. The winner will be announced in February 2023.
The initiative will contemplate one (1) non-profit organization that is headquartered and operating in Salvador; that executes social projects linked to the education and training of children, teens, and/or young people; with a CNPJ and at least 2 years of operation. Besides the donated resources and personalized assistance, members of the winning NGO will participate in an immersive trip to get to know the work of Norberto Odebrecht Foundation’s partner institutions in the Southern Bahia Lowlands, the identity territory in which the Foundation’s Social Program was implemented.
Boost education projects
The public notice brings to Salvador a service already offered by the Norberto Odebrecht Foundation to its partners for nearly 20 years, a period during which the institution has operated in the Southern Bahia Lowlands, strengthening organizations that work with education, social-productive inclusion, environment, and citizenship, among others. “We see up close how a strengthened NGO, with efficient management, can transform realities,” says Fabio Wanderley, superintendent of FNO. “With our support, the NGO partners of our Social Program have expanded their activities and received recognitions such as the Best NGO Award and have been contemplated by campaigns like Criança Esperança and the LED Movement Award”, he explains.
Education, the focus of the award, also reinforces Maria Emília Foundation’s performance. “We want to establish ourselves as one of the biggest supporters of education in Bahia,” says Thamile Accioly, executive director of the institution. “We live a moment of breaking down barriers and working collaboratively, promoting social inclusion and transforming the lives of individuals, families, and entire communities for an increasingly fair and equal society,” he adds. Since 1998, when it was founded, FME has driven research initiatives, technology, and projects that generate social inclusion through education and health.
With “ONG Forte” Award, the goal of the two Foundations is to support non-profit organizations in the capital of Bahia, expanding their potential for impact and their contribution to bringing quality education to young people in Salvador.
