Enseada should be the main logistics route for the transportation of large wind components
DATE: 01/24/2024
From January 2024, the Enseada Naval, Industrial and Port Complex, located in Maragojipe, in the Recôncavo Baiano, should become the main logistics route for the transportation of large wind components destined for the wind farms in Bahia and other Northeastern states. This will be possible due to the partial lease agreement for the Canteiro de São Roque do Paraguaçu area, signed in December/2023 between Enseada and Petrobras, which will be used to allow the passage of wind blades along the BA-514 highway (former BR-420).
According to Enseada’s Commercial Director, Carlos Alberto Tsubake, the signing of this contract represents a crucial factor in making future wind projects in the region viable and the initiative reflects Enseada’s commitment to sustainable development. “By consolidating ourselves as the main logistical route for the transportation of large wind loads, we are not only promoting efficiency, but also a significant reduction in costs and mitigation of logistical security risks for our clients,” he said.
For Tsubake, this will play a fundamental role in the development of the energy transition, both in Bahia and in Brazil. “The reopening of this logistics route not only strengthens the competitiveness of Brazil’s energy infrastructure, but also has a positive impact on the socio-economic aspects of the Recôncavo Baiano region and on the lives of hundreds of families,” he added.
Between 2022 and 2023, the Enseada Terminal received 40 complete wind turbines destined for the state of Bahia, as part of the “Tanque Novo” project. The efficiency used in the initiative was highlighted in March of last year, when the Brazilian Wind Energy Association (Abeeólica) recognized Enseada, a Novonor Group company, and CGN Brasil Energia, a client in the project, with an award for the excellence and innovation of the logistical technique used, which allowed the park to operate more than 60 days ahead of schedule.
