Tips for everyday digital life mark Information Security Month
DATE: 10/31/2024
October is Information Security Month! That’s why, throughout the month, the OEC carried out various actions with information and essential tips for protection in everyday digital life, in personal and professional life. Remote working has increased the need to be careful with information, demonstrating the relevance of this issue today.
To debate and promote reflection on the subject, the company brought in special guests for a chat on the OEC Cybercast podcast, divided into four episodes. The topics covered were: Security and Remote Working, Digital Fraud, Data Privacy and Security on Social Networks. The podcast was presented by Ygor Cezar, head of Information Technology at OEC and Novonor, and led by Renato Sobral, head of Information Security, and Daílson Martins, Information Security coordinator, both at OEC. Guests included Ronaldo Andrade, Chief Information Security Office (CISO) at Horiens, Paulo Baldin, CISO at Flipside, André Rocha, CISO at Braskem and Walter Calza Neto, lawyer-partner at CNK Advogados, Data Protection Officer (DPO) at Sport Club Corinthians and Sparco.
Among the activities, OEC organized an in-person quiz at the São Paulo office with a prize draw for participants. Each episode of the podcast also included quizzes on the topic and a prize draw, encouraging everyone to participate and get involved with the topic.
Ronaldo Andrade and Renato Sobral also took part in “Papo de Sexta”, Horiens’ internal communication initiative in which subjects that have an impact on day-to-day business are discussed. October’s edition was about digital fraud.
“We all need to raise our awareness of this issue because cybercriminals are becoming increasingly sophisticated and the most important link in this chain of protection is not the firewall or antivirus, but our action in detecting a malicious link or email and not clicking on it. This applies not only in the company, but also in our private lives. Do your bit!” says Ygor Cezar.
When it comes to digital security, keeping up to date with what you need to know and do is essential!
