In the last three years, Odebrecht’s Health Support area in São Paulo has partnered with the Personal Insurance team at Odebrecht Insurance Brokerage (OCS) to develop a technological solution that streamlined the management of the well-being of around 3,000 people served by them. These team members are assisted by the team on legal requirements, health-promotion initiatives, aid services and even in recommending medical specialists.

Called the Odebrecht Integrated Health System (SISO), the tool was created by the team to automate occupational processes, such as calling for the Regular Medical Exam, self-service by users, management of doctors’ schedule, apportionment of healthcare costs for the Businesses, integration of team members’ data and information records and the integration of occupational and health care data.

As a whole, the team that uses this system on a daily basis is very satisfied with the results, especially with the gains in productivity and using it in their work environment. “We achieved the goal of improving health management and optimizing the human and financial resources of the area. As a differential, we can point out the integration of occupational and health care, which gives us the ability to see the team member as whole,” explained Dr. Mayanse Boulos, physician responsible for the Health area of Odebrecht in São Paulo.

With the automation of processes, the time demanded of the team was reduced significantly and team members perceived the speed in the services provided. “I value systems that are designed with users in mind and, in this aspect, SISO positively surprised me. Because of its user-friendly nature, nowadays I’m able to, with one or two clicks, independently schedule an exam or make appointment, which makes the process faster,” said Adriano Verardo, member of the Sustainability and Occupational Safety team at Odebrecht Engineering & Construction.

The success went beyond Odebrecht’s environment and the team was invited to showcase SISO at the Healthcare Innovation Show (HIS) held in September. The congress was attended by 2,400 professionals, including CEOs, presidents and executive officers of leading health sector companies, who witnessed and debated the presentations made by 180 renowned speakers on the latest innovations in the sector.  “Many participants approached us during the event, interested in learning more about integrated health management and the benefits obtained from the tool,” said Mônica Lavigne, Health Support nurse at Odebrecht in São Paulo, who spoke at the event.

The project is now running for the 2018 Destaque Awards, organized at Odebrecht. To learn more about SISO, visit www.premiodestaque.com or talk to Dr. Andrea Medici (amedici@odebrecht.com).
