    Published by: OEC

OEC, through Tenenge, participated in a study by ABEMI (Brazilian Association of Industrial Engineering) focused on Safety at Work. Launched in January 2022 by a working group formed by professionals from several companies in the sector, the Good Practices Guide for Zero Accidents addresses issues such as the importance of social involvement in the search for new practices that aim to preserve life; the magnitude of leadership movements in the achievement of goals and, moreover, seeks to generate attractiveness for such an important subject: safety at work.

“In 2021, through the initiative of Marcelo Neves, Tenenge’s official representative at ABEMI, we got the association to join forces with the Construction Industry Institute (CII),” said Alejandro Castaño, contract manager and coordinator of the ABEMI-CII Program. “This has enabled the implementation of various processes and tools for improving the management of our projects, as well as the dissemination and study of research from the CII’s knowledge base,” he explained.

From this program, the meetings that would produce the Zero Accident Guide began. The trend is for meetings among the participants to continue and for this to be the first document of many produced by the group.

“It has been very important and productive for us to attend ABEMI meetings. It is of the utmost importance that we are always up-to-date on matters related to safety and preservation of the lives of our members. That’s why we were happy to be part of the creation of a document as significant and enlightening as the Zero Accidents guide,” said Adriano Verardo, responsible for Occupational Safety at OEC and the company’s representative in the preparation of the guide.

Marcelo Neves added: “The safety of the members and ensuring well-being in the work environments is a premise of OEC. Because of this, the company is always updating and searching for techniques and teachings that aim to prevent accidents during the execution of the tasks, so that productivity, quality of work and good results are achieved in a safe manner.”
