ENR recognizes OEC for the sixth consecutive year
DATE: 08/07/2018
The São Paulo Subway Lilac Line, where lot 7 was constructed by the Metropolitano 5 consortium, formed by Odebrecht Engineering and Construction, Queiroz Galvão and OAS, was recognized by the North American magazine Engineering News-Record (ENR) – one of the main engineering publications in the world – as one of the best global projects in the Bridges and Tunnels category. This is the sixth consecutive year that a project undertaken by OEC is one of the award winners.
The winners of the most recent edition of the Global Best Projects were announced on July 31. Line 5 of the subway is among the 22 award winning projects performed in 14 countries. The project is the only representative from South America and the only one performed by Latin American companies.
A panel of judges selected projects in various categories, all with notable examples of risks and obstacles overcome during their construction. The selection of projects took into consideration factors such as health and safety, innovations, challenges, design and quality of project construction, as well as an emphasis on the cultural diversity of the teams that made the evaluated projects a reality.
The award ceremony will be held in New York on October 2.
This is not the first time that OEC has been recognized by the Global Best Projects award!
