  • AH Laúca reaches new milestone in energy production

    DATE: 03/20/2026

The Laúca Hydroelectric Plant (AH Laúca) achieved a new record in instantaneous energy production this month, accounting for more than half of the supply of Angola’s interconnected system.

This result demonstrates the responsiveness of the national electrical system in meeting the growing demand for energy, driven by the expansion of the public grid.

AH Laúca, built by Odebrecht, is the largest clean and renewable energy generation plant in Angola, playing a key role in system stability and in reducing diesel consumption in thermal power generation.
