From September 15 to 19, the Northern Beltway — a project carried out by Odebrecht Engenharia e Construção and Renea Infraestrutura — held its 1st Internal Week for the Prevention of Workplace Accidents (SIPAT), with the theme “Valuing Life.” The initiative highlighted physical integrity and mental well-being, aligned with Suicide Prevention Month.
The event covered all five work sites along the 44 km stretch, including activities in three night shifts and at the recruitment base currently located at Afeq.
Ensuring integration and engagement of nearly five thousand employees and contractors, daily General Safety Meetings (DDS) were held simultaneously at all sites. Featured activities included customized kits (water bottle, pen, cup, lanyard, and T-shirt), safety-themed games and quizzes, and a safety slogan contest, with awards for the three most voted slogans by management.
The project also received support from partner companies to secure resources and ensure the event’s execution for all participants. The presence and collaboration of everyone were essential to the initiative’s success, showing that together it is possible to build a safer, healthier, and more welcoming environment for all.
Completion of girder installation at OAE-660
Also in September, the Northern Beltway completed the installation of prestressed reinforced concrete girders. In total, 111 girders of 40 meters and 80 tons each were installed using conventional methods — transport and crane lifting.
OAE-660 is part of the Northern Beltway axis and consists of two 300-meter-long carriageways. This delivery is part of Section 1, scheduled for completion at the end of the year, located near the airport interchange.
