Ocyan organizes labor reform workshop
DATE: 03/10/2018
In February, Ocyan hosted two workshops on Brazil’s recently passed labor reform, with one in Rio de Janeiro and the other in Macaé. The purposes of the workshops is to improve the teams’ knowledge of the impacts the new rules will have on each specific Business. The event, which was organized by the People team, received support from Luis Marcelo Góis, a lawyer specializing in labor law from the partner firm BMA – Barbosa Mussnich Aragão. Around 80 team members from the following departments participated in the workshops: P&O, Legal, Tax, SSC, Occupational Health and Safety from all businesses.
The new labor legislation, which alters some 120 points of the Consolidation of Labor Laws (CLT) sanctioned in 1943, was instituted by Federal Law 13,467/2017 and came into force on November 11, 2017, with the purpose of adapting these items to today’s labor relations. Although the application of changes is gradual, Ocyan is studying the impacts created by the new legal framework in order to adjust its processes and orient its team members on the changes.
