The presentation of the social diagnosis marks a new stage in the reapplication of the Foundation’s Social Program

On March 17, one more step towards expanding the PDCIS, the Social Program coordinated by the Norberto Odebrecht Foundation, was taken together with Ocyan, a Novonor Group company. In a meeting with leaders of the two organizations, The Planet consulting presented the social diagnosis of the Sana community, located in Macaé (RJ), municipality where Ocyan operates. This is the second stage in the construction of a social impact project for the region.

Present at the meeting were the Foundation’s Superintendent, Fabio Wanderley, Ocyan’s president, Roberto Bischoff, the vice-president of Sustainability, Marco Aurélio, and the vice-president of People and Management of the company, Nir Lander. The Foundation’s responsible for Sustainability, Partnerships and Communication, Cristiane Nascimento, and the organization’s Sustainability coordinator, Cláudia Pimentel, also attended the meeting. “This was a moment to present the challenges identified in the social diagnosis carried out with the Sana community,” explains Wanderley. “And to discuss, in alignment with Ocyan’s ESG strategy, the opportunities in which we can operate in the future,” adds the executive.

Talks between the Foundation and Ocyan to bring the proven impacts model of the PDCIS to Macaé began in 2021, with the signing of a memorandum of intent in July. Now, as the next steps, the Foundation will carry out technical surveys in the area and will proceed to the elaboration of the project, with the schedule, investment, and practices to be carried out with the beneficiaries – all based on the solutions already successfully developed in the Southern Bahia Lowlands.

The intention is that the organizations sign a Technical Cooperation Agreement later this year, and that a civil society organization (CSO) from the region be identified to join forces during the partnership.
