The Transbrasil Consortium, formed by OECI, OAS and Queiroz Galvão, signed with Rio de Janeiro City Hall a term that will allow the expansion of the scope initially defined for the work. The project will also include the construction of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) terminals in Deodoro, Margaridas and Missões, as well as an access ramp on Perimetral Avenue, extending the functionality of the system.

Located on the main route between Midtown and the North and West Zones of Rio de Janeiro City, the exclusive Transbrasil BRT corridor, one of the largest in the world, had its works started in November 2014 and is expected to be completed by end of the first half of 2020. At the peak of the project, more than 2,000 direct and 6,000 indirect jobs were created.

The construction site is approximately 27 km long – connecting Deodoro to Novo Rio Bus Station – 11 Overpasses, 1 Underpass, 3 Terminals and 15 Stations, which will allow the transportation of about 820 thousand passengers per day, in addition to connecting with Supervia city trains and the Transolimpica and Transcarioca BRT corridors.
