  • OEC’s Integrity Program is certified by ISO 37001, the international seal of anti-bribery management

    Published by: OEC

    OEC’s Integrity Program is certified by ISO 37001, the global standard for the management of anti-bribery systems. One of the first heavy construction companies in Brazil to receive the seal, OEC was audited by QMS Certification Services. The certification, which is valid for three years, also includes its subsidiaries OECI, CNO, Tenenge, CBPO, and Oenger.

    The achievement of the ISO 37001 Certificate attests to the recognition of the internal controls created in recent years and corroborates our determination to build our business on an ethical, honest, and transparent performance.

    Since 2016, OEC has worked hard to bring its Governance and Integrity Program up to the same level as publicly traded companies, with a series of actions implemented:

    • incorporation of independent board members with extensive experience in the market;
    • installation of advisory committees in areas such as Integrity, Audit, Finance, and Risks, coordinated by independent directors;
    • implementation of the Ethics Committee to assess possible violations of the code of conduct and the definition of remedial measures;
    • institution of the functions of Chief Compliance Officer and Head of Internal Audit, who report directly and independently to the Board of Directors;
    • establishing broad measures for the prevention, detection and remediation of any actions that are not in compliance with the company’s new Integrity Policy;
    • creation and availability of an Ethics Line, managed confidentially by an independent company;
    • adoption of a single, centralized payment system at the parent company for all countries and contracts;
    • adherence to and active participation in collective actions such as the Business Movement for Integrity and Transparency, an initiative of Ethos Institute, the Movement for Integrity in the Engineering and Construction Sector, with the secretary done by the Brazil Network of the United Nations Global Compact (UN) and Ethos Institute and the Brazilian Institute for Self-Regulation in the Infrastructure Sector (IBRIC).
