     Prêmio CEMEX 2023

OEC secured the first place in the CEMEX 2023 Award in the infrastructure category. This acknowledgement celebrates innovation, sustainability, creativity, and progress in construction. The award encourages the exchange of ideas and solutions among different construction practices worldwide, emphasizing environmental care and social value. The event took place on August 9th at the La Compañía Hotel in Panama City.

The CEMEX 2023 Award covered five categories: Housing, Affordable Housing, Construction Projects, Shared Spaces and Infrastructure. Furthermore, four special awards recognized Universal Accessibility, Sustainable Construction, Innovation in Construction, and Social Impact.

OEC stood out in the Infrastructure category through the project of the branch line of Line 2 of the Panama Metro. This project reflects OEC’s commitment to pushing boundaries and offering advanced solutions that benefit users and communities, while promoting environmental responsibility and social progress. The winners of each category will represent Panama on the global stage at the international CEMEX Works Award 2023, which will take place in Mexico in November.

“We are proud to receive such significant acknowledgement . This award is the result of the work of a whole team of people who worked very hard, even during a pandemic, to deliver quality work on schedule, for the benefit of thousands of people,” said Tito Serra, Business Director at OEC Panama. In addition to him, Arturo Graell, Director of Institutional Relations, Communications and P&O for Latin America, and Claudia Arias, Engineering and Project Leader for the Line 2 branch of the Metro, represented the company at the event.
