OEC in Peru announced on Thursday (2) the signing of a new contract after an interval of three years. The client is the concessionaire North IIRSA (an asset of the Odebrecht Group), operator of a 970 km motorway and the scope foresees the execution of periodic maintenance activities, such as the renovation of the existing pavement, construction of a new asphalt coating, in addition to construction works, stabilization, protection and rehabilitation of sectors of the highway. The signed contract is valid for two years and can be extended progressively until 2031.

The first service will be the renovation of 166 km of pavement, which should be completed by December this year, employing an estimated total of 180 people at a cost of US$ 15 million. According to Mauricio Cruz, Country Director of OEC Peru, within the next 18 months there is an expectation of other services covered by the contract that could total up to US$ 100 million in this period.

This is the first OEC contract in Peru after the company’s collaboration and rehabilitation agreement was signed with the country’s justice system.
