OEC receives Inova Infra 2023 Award For the BIM use in Canal do Sertão
DATE: 03/30/2023
OEC won the Inova Infra 2023 award for the BIM use in the project for section 5 of the Canal do Sertão in Alagoas. In its fourth edition, the event, organized by O Empreiteiro magazine, continues with the purpose of showing the innovative projects applied to construction works by engineering companies in Brazil. This is the second year that the construction company has won the award.
The methodology used in the projectallows a virtual construction model to be created digitally, supporting the project throughout its phases, allowing for better analysis and control than traditional manual processes.
According to Daniel Lepikson, responsible for Innovation at the OEC, the BIM is the latest technology available in the construction market. “It is something that added to the technical excellence and experience of the company, it will allow the execution of this project within the established budget and deadline, thus meeting the client’s expectations”.
For Omar Barreto, the Contract Manager responsible for the project, this award is an excellent recognition for the entire team involved in this project, which was always committed to using and improving this technology. “At OEC we always look for the best in the market to bring quality and productivity in the execution of projects. This award shows us that we are going in the right direction, building the present to transform the future”.
All projects were evaluated by an independent jury, formed by representatives of engineering and infrastructure entities, such as the Brazilian Association of Engineering Consultants (ABCE), Brazilian Association of Industrial Engineering (ABEMI), Brazilian Association of Infrastructure Class Unions and Associations (BRASINFRA), National Union of Consulting Architectural Engineering Companies (SINAENCO), and the Union of the Heavy Construction Industry of the State of São Paulo (SINICESP), and consultants Ricardo Fabel and Sergio Palazzo. The award ceremony will take place on April 18, at the Brazilian British Center, in São Paulo.
