On September 11, the inaugural class of Escolinha OEC Terminais took place at the Pingo D’água construction site in Rio de Janeiro. This is the third initiative under the OEC Education program, which has already been applied at the BRT Transbrasil and BRT Transoeste construction sites, where the second class is still active.

The new class is the result of a partnership between the OEC and RHUMO Educação, a company with over three decades of experience. Students will receive bimonthly pedagogical guidance, including individual assessments to monitor their progress. The daily classes will be conducted by teachers with experience of the target audience, using specialized teaching material. The new class is made up of 20 students and will last seven months, with classes from Monday to Thursday, totaling 2 hours and 30 minutes a day.

The fourth class in Rio de Janeiro is scheduled for the end of September, this time at the Novo Marapicu reservoir works, followed by the Campo Grande Road Link, which will begin in October, reiterating OEC’s commitment to the growth and development of its employees.

The aims of the initiative are literacy and tutoring for the first years of elementary school. At the end of the course, all students will be encouraged to take assessments and enter public schools, guaranteeing that they will continue their studies in the corresponding grade. “We believe that the only thing you don’t lose in life is knowledge. And education, as it was for me, is an agent of transformation and improvement in people’s lives,” said Rogério Dourado, Contracts Director for the Rio de Janeiro market.
