OEC attends Ethos 360º Conference
DATE: 12/07/2023
The Ethos 360º Conference, recognized as the largest corporate social responsibility event in Latin America and one of the largest in the world, took place on November 21 and 22 at Expo Barra Funda in São Paulo. With six simultaneous stages and more than 60 panels, the conference addressed important topics such as climate change, socio-environmental issues, social responsibility and the fight against Brazilian inequalities. In addition to closing the celebrations for the Ethos Institute’s 25th anniversary, the event highlighted its significant contribution to the development and strengthening of the ESG (environment, social and governance) agenda in companies.
One of the panels focused on “ESG in the Infrastructure Sector” and addressed the challenges of this agenda for various segments of the sector, with an emphasis on corporate governance and public-private relations. Alexandre Baltar, OEC’s Sustainability Director, was one of the speakers. Sharing the floor with Sérgio Leão, Director of Sustainability at IBRIC (Brazilian Institute for Self-Regulation in the Infrastructure Sector) and mediator Marcela Greggo, Coordinator of Integrity, Transparency and Anti-Corruption Projects at the Ethos Institute, he pointed out that the ESG agenda reflects a trend coming from society, clients and the government and stressed that companies need to be prepared for this. “The ESG agenda is more than just protection; it’s also a way of generating value for the company and the communities in which it operates.”
