Lean’s Women is the theme of a webinar promoted by SINICON
DATE: 08/20/2021
The Lean Institute and SINICON held this Thursday (19) a 100% female webinar, with the presence of the Manager of Contracts of UTE Santa Cruz’s construction site, Maria Alencar. The purpose of the event was to discuss how Lean philosophy, the management model inspired in the practices and results of Toyota System, can improve the management of large construction sites.
Santa Cruz is one of OEC’s projects where the methodology was implemented, and it is possible to measure some results that prove the importance of its application. According to data presented, even in an atypical period like the one experienced during the pandemic, in November 2020 a 33% improvement in productivity was observed in the coupling activity and of 148% in pipe welding.
According to Lean Institute’s website, concerning the philosophy, “it is a body of knowledge whose essence is the ability to continuously eliminate squander and systematically solve problems. This implies rethinking the way one leads, manages and develops people. It is through the full engagement of the people involved with the work that one can glimpse opportunities for improvement and sustainable gains.
The Lean philosophy, like our corporate culture, focuses on customer satisfaction and value creation, principles from which other actions are derived for issues related to, for example, innovation, process organization, etc.
In addition to Maria Alencar, Deísa Conegundes, Manager of Operational Excellence at Andrade Gutierrez, and Berenice Ceravolo, Manager of Planning and Innovation at Passarelli, also spoke at the event. The moderation was held by Flávio Picchi, president of the Lean Institute Brasil. To learn more about the subject, visit the Lean Institute website by clicking here.
