InovaInfra 2023: OEC wins award using BIM

The work for Segment 5 of the Sertão Canal, developed by the OEC in partnership with TPF Engenharia, won the InovaInfra 2023 Award held by the magazine O Empreiteiro – one of the most respected technical publications on engineering in Brazil. The award reinforces the OEC’s effort to offer innovative solutions that add value to its projects.

The recognition, which had already been announced a few weeks ago, was materialized in an event that took place last Tuesday, April 18, at the Brazilian British Center, in São Paulo. The award, now in its 4th edition, is held annually and aims to bring together professionals from the infrastructure sector to exchange experiences and promote successful solutions among companies. Derveson Oliveira and Omar Barreto Filho, responsible for the work, were the company’s representatives during the award ceremony.

According to Derveson, this type of award shows that companies are investing in technological solutions that generate benefits both for the market and for society as a whole. “Receiving an innovation award shows that companies are in tune with market trends and customer needs.

To celebrate the achievement and discuss the projects, the Brazilian Association of Industrial Engineering (ABEMI) held on April 19 the ABEMI EngenhariaTALKS, a knowledge series that is in its 5th edition and that proposes the debate of relevant themes in the infrastructure sector. The meeting, which took place in a hybrid fashion, highlighted the winning cases of InovaInfra 2023, as two ABEMI associates were awarded the prize. OEC operational manager Omar Barreto Filho was the one who represented the company on the occasion. “The OEC is a very important company for ABEMI, it has all our support and institutional backing,” said the meeting moderator and ABEMI president, Joaquim Maia.

The meeting also included industry authorities and speakers Roger Simonson (CEO of Black Powder Solutions and One Eye Industries), Thomaz Americano (Operations Director of AP Consulting and Projects), Tarek Farah (Project Manager at TPF Engenharia), and Marieli Donina (Civil Engineer at TPF Engenharia).
