Get to know the new search tool for the Prêmio Destaque, BuscaPD
DATE: 07/27/2023
OEC’s Innovation area, in partnership with CIADEN, has just launched BuscaPD – a search system that uses an Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithm to classify works submitted for the Highlight Award and promotes easy access to more than 7,600 articles produced within the scope of Novonor, throughout its 31 years of existence.
Created in 1992, the Highlight Award was the pioneering program of the Novonor Knowledge Network, rewarding the best works produced each year, evaluated by an internal judging commission.
“The collection that has been generated for decades can be consulted using the new tool, optimizing the search for rich stored knowledge, boosting and facilitating the day-to-day in the pursuit of growth”, points out Luiz Juvenal de Souza, responsible for the area of Knowledge management.
The creation of the tool is a notable example of how technology can be used to promote practicality and the optimization of time spent on certain activities.
“The final consultation of the collection is facilitated by the creation of a dedicated interface that allows the location of a representative set of works with up to three mouse clicks”, says Daniel Lepikson, responsible for Innovation at OEC, who adds: “The success of this experience empowers us to take higher flights. The achievement of the desired results will justify the effort”.
With BuscaPD, Members now have a valuable resource to seek inspiration from the knowledge generated in previous projects.
According to Adhemar Travassos, developer of the interface, as it is more modern, the new system offers filters that did not exist in the previous tool, making the search much more practical. “Our collection is very rich. It is essential for the company that access to all this information is simple and efficient”, he evaluates.
At this first moment, the AI algorithm was trained to automatically classify only jobs in the Engineering and Construction segment, but some search features are also available for the entire Novonor collection.
