Four years after the launch of the publication “How to Implement the PDCIS”, which systematizes the experience with the Program for Integrated Development and Growth with Sustainability (PDCIS), the social program of the Norberto Odebrecht Foundation (FNO), the institution presented, on December 31, the “Systematization of Our Culture applied to the PDCIS”, as a milestone of its 59th anniversary.

Resulting from a year of research and in-depth interviews, the document explores how the culture developed by founder Norberto Odebrecht, based on education and work and consolidated in the Novonor Group, is transmitted and practiced by the beneficiaries and participants of the PDCIS. Coordinated by the FNO for over 20 years in the Lower South of Bahia, the program is a reference in social impact and the training of rural entrepreneurs.

“The richness of this work lies in the observation that a strong organizational culture can transcend the boundaries of a company, profoundly impacting people’s lives by putting into practice its purpose of forming leaders committed to their communities and territories,” says Jonas Nascimento, project coordinator and head of Sustainability at FNO.

Divided into conceptual and programmatic components, the “Systematization of Our Culture applied to the PDCIS” first covers the theoretical and philosophical foundations that support Our Culture, then structures the tools and practices adopted by the FNO and partner institutions of the PDCIS in the process of transmitting these concepts.

The document articulates how the culture of the Novonor Group is being practiced and disseminated to the beneficiaries and partner institutions of the FNO.

For Marcio Polidoro, consultant and former Director of Communication at Novonor, the dissemination of the principles and values of Our Culture in the Lower South of Bahia enhances the development of adolescents and family farmers. “This Systematization represents an important advance in the PDCIS because it will decisively contribute to transforming the youth of this region into new and good rural entrepreneurs, as Dr. Norberto dreamed,” he says.

Available online and free of charge, the Systematization is aimed not only at third sector organizations interested in implementing organizational cultures but also at schools, private companies, and institutions seeking practices for sharing philosophies for the training of new leaders.

“Our Culture values individual capabilities, daily productive activities, and community ties. With this publication, the FNO maintains its position as the main guardian of Norberto Odebrecht’s humanist legacy, enabling the transmission phenomenon to be carried out in an increasingly systematic and organized manner, rooting itself in people’s spirits and paving the way for a more sustainable and just society,” comments Isadora Sarno, a member of the Communication area of the FNO/OEC.
