Teams talk about Compliance Policy
DATE: 02/22/2017
A coordinated action is now underway at the Businesses and at Odebrecht S.A. to reinforce the Compliance teams. Until the end of last year, these teams already represented some 40 members, and in 2017, they will be expanded at each one of the Businesses. They are headed by the Professionals Responsible for Compliance, who report to the respective Boards of Directors.
One of the duties of those Responsible for Compliance is to support the leaders as they implement the provisions established in the Compliance Policy. The sharing of experiences and permanent exchange of knowledge between them will promote alignment toward ethical, upstanding and transparency practices consistently throughout the Odebrecht Group. In this sense, as established in the policy, the Integrated Compliance Committee began its activities, consisting of those Responsible for Compliance from each Business and from Odebrecht S.A., which meets periodically.
Olga Pontes, responsible for Compliance at Odebrecht S.A., revealed that this exchange of experiences streamlines the improvements necessary in the guidelines and practices. “Promoting synergy and primarily the alignment between the internal and external positioning on topics related to Compliance throughout the entire Odebrecht Group represents an important goal of our operations,” said Pontes.
The Odebrecht Group Compliance System consists of 10 integrated measures for preventing, detecting and remediating any risks if non-compliance with ethical, upstanding and transparent operations. The commitment of members, especially leaders, to implement and practice these measures is crucial. Everyone is responsible for putting the Compliance System into practice.
