D’Azur team in Bahia pays tribute to construction foremen
DATE: 02/23/2018
In keeping with our value of making commitments to local communities, the construction team of D’Azur, an OR project in the state of Bahia that was delivered in December, renovated two public squares located near the building. The renovations involved repaving the squares, landscaping, a new drainage system and general improvements to the surrounding areas.
Honoring the people who worked on the project, the squares were renamed using the surnames of eight foremen and two workplace safety technicians: Jilson Santos, Janice Rosário, Jeronimo Ferreira, Judemacio Maximino, Gilberto Bispo, Luiz da Hora Saturnino, Inácio Souza, Alan Ferreira, Irenio Ferreira and Aldo Souza. As a result, the squares were christened Praça Maximino Ferreira Rosário Bispo and Praça Saturnino Souza Santos.
Hassan Luedy, the person responsible for the project’s construction, explained how the idea came to be. “Streets and squares typically are named for important and prominent people, so we decided to christen the squares with the surnames of the foremen as a way to show our appreciation, pay tribute to them and motivate those whose dedication made the delivery of the D’Azur project the huge success that it was.”
Watch the following video below to learn more about the renovation of the squares and see how the team members felt about having their names immortalized on the squares:
