Enseada acts with social and environmental responsibility and commitment with a view to the sustainable development of its enterprise, through the adoption and dissemination of the best environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices that govern its operational activities and relationships.

To this end, it has a robust set of socio-environmental programs that support its activities, as well as preventing and mitigating any possible impacts of its operations by managing risks, carrying out environmental monitoring, implementing projects and actions aimed at the community, establishing a permanently open communication channel through a relationship of trust and transparency with the surrounding communities, and acting with ethics, integrity and legal compliance.

The balance of Enseada’s activities in 2023 was positive, with 2.1 million tons of cargo handled, involving around 170,000 man-hours of work. All the programs set out in its environmental license, which establish the parameters to be met and a wide range of preventive and mitigating actions with a focus on sustainability, were successfully implemented, and no environmental accidents were recorded during the year.

The company continues to maintain its commitment to hiring locally, with 86% of its workforce coming from the district of São Roque do Paraguaçu and the community of Enseada do Paraguaçu, as well as contracting the provision of services with companies in the region: food supply, security, machinery and equipment, transport, among others.

The company prioritizes actions such as the implementation of health and safety programs, the implementation of safe procedures and training with the aim of reducing the risk of accidents, in order to guarantee the physical and mental integrity of its employees and contractors, completing another year without accidents at work with time off.

Enseada’s commitment, expressed in its Sustainability Policy, points to its strong intention to generate value for all stakeholders, as well as seeking to contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) established by the United Nations (UN).

The results obtained in 2023 ratify the importance of Enseada’s commitment to sustainability, which greatly contributes to achieving these results, which are not only the result of the company’s efforts, but also the sum of the individual efforts and dedication of each employee, with a view to the collective result of the teams working in synergy and commitment.
