Enseada conducts a DWT on Red June and São João
The month of June is one of the most celebrated months in the Northeast. Popularity and devotion are strong elements during this period. In every corner, the June festivals have their own uniqueness and are filled with vibrant colors, traditional food, folk dances, forró music, as well as a lot of faith and life stories. Therefore, the action calendar of Enseada Indústria Naval could not fail to take into account this important period. Two of these very special themes were addressed in the Daily Work Training (DWT) held on June 21st at its facilities.
With the participation of 60 company employees and partners, subcontractors and clients, the recommendations for Red June and São João were discussed.
The Red June campaign is an annual initiative aimed at raising awareness among the population about the importance of blood donation, which takes place during a time of year when donations decrease, due to the winter season in Brazil and, in the Northeast region, due to school holidays and June festivities.
Saint John’s Day, celebrated on June 24th, is a traditional festival characterized by large events, especially in rural areas, featuring typical food, forró music, square dance performances, fireworks, balloons, bonfires, games and the traditional liqueur.
Aware of the possibility of combining alcohol and driving, Enseada addressed the risks and serious consequences of this combination in a strong and emphatic manner, emphasizing the prohibition of being under the influence of alcohol and drugs in the workplace, as well as the strict prohibition of using these substances on the premises.
It was emphasized that the June festivities, which attract millions of people in the Northeast region to travel from their cities to participate in the celebrations, tend to increase the risks of accidents on the highways and, consequently, the need for blood transfusions. Therefore, it is of great relevance to correlate the two subjects.
Blood donation saves lives, while the combination of alcohol/drugs and driving can lead to serious consequences, including severe accidents and death. Bearing that in mind, an alert was raised about the importance of being aware of the actions carried out by each individual, not only for their own health and well-being, but for the entire society.
The campaign titled “Driving + Drinking: a dangerous combination” also included the display of posters in strategic locations within the Terminal, warning workers about the risks of consuming alcohol and driving, emphasizing that the effects of alcohol wear off after the festivities, but the guilt in case of accidents remains.
Hooray for São João!
