Enseada supports cultural event of quadrilha junina [St Jhon’s Folk Dance] in São Roque do Paraguaçu
DATE: 07/01/2024
Enseada, in partnership with the companies Marca Ambiental, Copa Soluções Ambientais and Dynamica, proudly supported t”Quadrilha Santa Fé” at the traditional June festival in São Roque do Paraguaçu. This initiative was carried out by donating essential items for the production of the participants’ costumes. This support is crucial for the preservation of the city’s cultural heritage and June traditions, promoting interaction between people through leisure, culture and the generation of work and income.
The quadrilha junina is made up of young leaders who dedicate themselves to collective work throughout the year. Its activities include mobilizing the group, cultural production and attracting partners to develop social and cultural actions with families and the local community. Enseada recognizes that art and culture play a fundamental role in the social transformation of young people, encouraging their leadership and valuing their cultural manifestations.
In her speech, Aline Dias, president, choreographer and costume designer of the Santa Fé quadrille, said: “It’s important for us to maintain our quadrille because every year we look for different costumes and presentations to maintain our tradition. Every year is a new performance, a new scenario and new ideas, so we’re striving to maintain this tradition of reviving this culture more and more. Our sincere thanks go to the Enseada do Paraguaçu Shipyard, which joins us every year with this partnership to keep our costumes complete and one of our strong sponsors to maintain our cultural tradition.”
Recently, the importance of the June quadrilles was officially recognized by the Brazilian government with the passing of Law No. 14,900, which recognized them as a Manifestation of National Culture, joining other cultural manifestations recognized as authentic expressions of the country’s culture, such as forró (popular music), samba schools, June festivals and gospel music. This legislation further reinforces the importance of initiatives such as Enseada’s, which contribute to the appreciation and preservation of Brazilian cultural traditions.
The June festival in São Roque do Paraguaçu is more than a cultural event, it is a symbol of unity, identity and cultural resistance. Maintaining and strengthening the “Quadrilha Santa Fé” ensures that traditions live on and that future generations can experience and value this rich cultural heritage. Thus, Enseada and its partners fulfill their social responsibility and contribute to the development and perpetuation of local culture, as commended by IPHAN’s consent in the licensing process for the project.
