DATE: 05/05/2026
The Expresso Sena Madureira – Klabin Consortium, formed by the construction companies Odebrecht Engineering & Construction and Álya, was selected by the São Paulo City Hall to develop the executive designs and carry out the works for the implementation of the Sena Madureira tunnel, in addition to upgrading the project’s immediate surroundings, located in the southern region of the city of São Paulo.
This is a strategic project for the municipality, directly benefiting more than 800,000 people per day. The intervention will bring greater efficiency to one of the city’s busiest corridors, improving mobility dynamics throughout the entire region.
With the new tunnels that will connect Sena Madureira Avenue and Ricardo Jafet Avenue, the journey between Chácara Klabin and the Ibirapuera neighborhood can be completed in just 3 minutes. This new infrastructure ensures smoother traffic flow both for private vehicles and for the 45 bus lines serving the area. The complex’s structure, which includes the South, North, and emergency tunnels, was designed to optimize vehicle flow at the intersection of Sena Madureira and Domingos de Morais streets.
Environment
The project provides for the planting of one thousand new trees in the Vila Mariana neighborhood, to be carried out by the SP + Verde Program. A total of 437 trees will be preserved, and another 114 native Atlantic Forest saplings will be planted in the immediate surroundings. According to a survey commissioned by the City Hall and conducted by the Datafolha Institute, 92% of São Paulo residents approve the construction of the Sena Madureira Complex. For 87% of respondents, the project will improve the quality of life of those who live in or travel through the region.
